The training course was held at the Cywain Centre in Bala on April the 4th and seven members came together to learn about the importance of walking and what was needed to be a quality walking leader.
The day with the tutors Catrin Roberts and Emma Quaek was a success and following the day the members have qualified and feel very confident to take a group out walking.
Mim Roberts, the Development Officer for Merched y Wawr, said that the day was very beneficial and following the course and the advice given, she is now determined to go out walking daily.
"The course was excellent and the information was presented to the members in a friendly and pleasing manner. The course was definitely beneficial and an eye opener for someone like me who was reluctant to go out walking previously."
In order to organise the course, we received a grant from the Go For It scheme (Sports Council for Wales sponsorship) via Mantell Gwynedd and following the day, the members that have qualified hope to organise walking sessions in their areas.
Lowri Rees-Roberts added, "The course was a huge success. We would like to thank the tutors and Mantell Gwynedd for the funding to organise the course and to the Cywain Centre for the lovely lunch and their work assisting us with running the day.
